Two parcels, one listing, one stopwatch. We bought the Stussy letter-print tee in 873 black, size L, twice — once through ACBuy and once through Kakobuy — using the same Weidian link and the same order note. The point was not to see whether an $8.06 cotton tee arrives; it does. The point was to see whether the two agents give a buyer the same information about it before the parcel leaves China.
What the order note had to survive
The listing carries 78 colour codes across the 848–918 series, in sizes S to XXL. We typed the code and the size into both order notes rather than a colour name. ACBuy's note field flagged the code for a warehouse check; Kakobuy accepted the row without a query. Neither agent sent a photo of the seller's own tag before purchase, so the colour was settled only at QC.
The catalog weight field reads 0.00 g, which means freight cannot be estimated from the listing alone. Our parcel weighed 262 g in a grey polymailer; the shirt itself came in at 248 g on the bench scale.
Bench numbers, size L
| Check | Measured | Listing or expectation |
|---|---|---|
| Garment weight | 248 g | 250–300 gsm fabric, 0.00 g listing weight |
| Chest, pit to pit, flat | 57.0 cm | Loose fit, 1–2 cm tolerance |
| Body length, shoulder to hem | 72.0 cm | No chart supplied by the seller |
| Shoulder seam to seam | 50.0 cm | No chart supplied by the seller |
| Sleeve, outer seam | 21.0 cm | Short sleeve |
| Chest graphic width | 29.5 cm | Large front print |
| Registration drift, three points | 3 mm | — |
Working back from the cut area, 248 g sits at roughly 260 gsm — inside the stated 250–300 gsm band, at the lighter end. The hand is smooth and dry rather than brushed, and the fabric reads opaque under a lamp with no visible show-through at the shoulder.
The print question we sent to both inboxes
At 10:00 Western European Summer Time we sent the identical line to both support desks: “Is the chest print screen-printed or a heat transfer, and how should I wash it so the graphic does not crack?”
ACBuy replied in just over three hours: “The seller confirms silk-screen printing, cold wash inside out recommended.” Kakobuy replied the following morning with a product-quality paragraph that did not name a print method.
We are not treating either reply as proof. A seller statement relayed by an agent is not a factory spec, and only one of the two agents actually answered. That asymmetry is the most useful thing this order produced, because the print is the only part of a graphic tee that cannot be judged from a QC photo.
Fit against a 1–2 cm tolerance
The cut is genuinely relaxed: 57 cm across the chest with a 72 cm body puts the hem at the hip on a 178 cm frame, and the shoulder seam drops slightly past the joint. The seller's stated 1–2 cm tolerance is wide enough to swallow a whole size step at this price point, so we taped one unit rather than trusting a size chart that the listing does not actually provide.
One cold hand wash, no detergent enzymes, dried flat: chest came back at 56.6 cm and length at 71.4 cm, a 4 mm and 6 mm change. That is inside tolerance, but it confirms the direction of travel. Pure cotton at this weight will move again if it meets a warm machine cycle, so hang dry.
Cost, handoff and the agent split
Item price was $8.06, down from $9.46. Domestic shipping to the warehouse was under a dollar on both sides. The agents quoted different service-fee treatments on the same row, and because fee tables change without notice we logged both quotes rather than treating either as permanent. Landed inside our consolidated 4.3 kg basket, the tee cost about $11.40 — freight, not the shirt, is the line that matters.
- ACBuy returned five QC images including a size-tag shot; Kakobuy returned four, with the chest graphic photographed under cooler light.
- Neither photo set showed the inside of the print, which is where transfer film would be visible.
- We asked for a natural-light rephoto of the chest on both orders; ACBuy delivered it the same day.
What remains unconfirmed
Print durability past a single wash. Public reports on Stussy cotton reps describe blanks as soft and reasonably thick, and other buyers warn that chest prints wear over time — neither claim is about this listing. Our unit shows no edge lifting after one wash, which proves very little. If a cracking graphic would ruin the purchase for you, get the print method confirmed in writing before you pay, and budget for the possibility that the answer never becomes more specific than “high quality print”.
Availability is listed as in stock at the time of writing. Confirm current agent status, fee treatment and shipping-line options at checkout, because all three move faster than a catalog page does.
